Born May 1, 1968, joined his sister, Summer Knackstedt in heaven on September 18, 2021. He passed peacefully in his sleep. Vaughn’s life was a miracle as he was given zero chance to survive leukemia at age seven. All medical treatment to beat the leukemia had failed, causing a stroke and leaving Vaughn in a coma and as a result he was taken off all mediation and feeding tubes. A week later instead of dying, sores on his body were healing. Doctors took blood and bone marrow samples multiple times and found the leukemia gone, never to return during Vaughn's remaining life. Vaughn emerged from his coma and was an inspiration of endurance and strength and glorified God for 46 more years. He was known for his beautiful smile, long eyelashes and his kind and caring spirit for others. He is survived by his parents, Wes and Cheryl Knackstedt of Wellington, and three brothers and sister in-laws: Wes Jr. (Marsha) of Wellington, CO, Shane (Veronica) of Littleton, CO and Zebulun (Alisha) of Elwood, NE, and 12 nieces and nephews. His life will be celebrated by family on October 1st in a private service at Wes and Marsha’s home in rural Wellington.
