Bertha May Spicer, age 80 of Windsor, Colorado, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado. Bertha was born in 1941 in Franklin County, Virginia. She lived all of her life in the Roanoke and Rocky Mount areas until moving to Colorado in 2001 to be near her daughter, Kim Grant, as well as Kim’s husband, David, and their daughters, Jordyn and Jennifer. Bertha is also survived by her son, Rondall Spicer Jr., of Rocky Mount, VA, his daughter, Taylor Hicks, and Taylor’s son, Clayton. She also leaves behind three surviving siblings, Elsie Turner, Dan Frith, and Junior Frith, all of whom live in southern Virginia.
Bertha worked at the Coloradoan Newspaper until her retirement in 2006. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, and playing Bingo. Bertha also had a fondness for working word puzzle books while listening to Country or Bluegrass music. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
