Arnold Eugene Grenz

May 8, 1944 ~ March 25, 2021 (age 76)

Our Pops battled cancer and fought hard.  Arnold Eugene Grenz, at age 76, lost his battle, on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his daughter and his son.

Gene was born May 8, 1944, to Rhiny and Anna Mae (Johnson) Grenz in Fort Collins, Colorado.  Gene attended Fort Collins High School and was an accomplished wrestler.  His name is currently recorded on the “Wall of Fame” at the high school.  As displayed by his achievements in wrestling, Arnold was a hard worker.  He worked with his dad running the Mishawaka and even tried his hand at radio announcing for mens basketball for KCOL.  He went on to start Grenz Glass, a mobile auto glass company.  He was most proud of having his dad by his side running his company.  Gene then went on to become a transportation supervisor for Poudre School District.  He loved being involved with his drivers and making sure the kids were transported safely.

Gene loved the Colorado mountains.  Gould, Colorado is where he called home away from home.  He spent time there with his daughter, son-in-law, and son; taking in the mountain air, brookie fishing, and camping by an open fire.  He was an avid golfer and those that knew that knew he collected “sticks”, golf clubs, with the intent to give to others in exchange for learning more about the game he loved.  Gene was a collector of many things and enjoyed sharing his finds with others.  If you needed something, you could ask Gene and he had 2 or 3 of them.  No matter where he went he brought smiles, laughs, and his quick witted personality.

Gene is now resting in Jehovah’s memory.  His loving and caring brothers and sisters were there for him until the very end from the congregation.  He leaves behind his kids, Jennifer (Rick) Sargent, Mike Grenz, Tim (Robin) Grenz; grandkids Ryan Sargent, Christy King, Jaime Ferry, and Dillion Grenz; great grandkids Levi Sargent, Karter King, and Hadley King.

A memorial with the congregation will follow with a remembrance of him at a later date.

Pops, you will be missed.
