Alexander E. Meldrum (72) of Fort Collins, CO and formerly of Mertztown, PA where he resided with his wife Sandra (Vandegrift) of 51 years, died Monday August 9, 2021.
Born December 4, 1948 in Philadelphia, he was the only child of Reda (Netherton) and Alexander C. Meldrum. He graduated from North Penn High School in 1966 and graduated from Albright College in 1970. He was a pharmaceutical sales representative for 37 years, retiring from Pfizer.
He is lovingly remembered as a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, supporter, friend, leader, provider, coach and achiever. Most notably, his intense love and care for family and friends emanated across all of these roles.
Survivors include his wife; his sons Chad (Beth) and Bret (Publina); grandchildren Sunny, Maya, Quinn, Lucas, Jovial; sister Barbara Finnegan and brother Denny Gernert; and niece and nephews. Both his parents have preceded in death.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to St. Jude Research Hospital in Memphis, TN in memory of Lex Meldrum and to honor Pop’s hero, The Mighty Quinn.
